Influence#2

Claude Monet has been my influence since I was a kid. He was my inspiration to become an artist, and he still is. He started the Impressionism Movement in the late 1800's and began to do something no one else had. He was bold, sloppy, and had an eye for color. Actually, those are 3 adjectives that I would use to describe myself, both as an artist and student. Monet went with his gut to stick to his own whimsical style and move away from realism and start his own revolution. His style consists of chunky brushstrokes, layers of colors and spotty images. In most of my artwork, I tend to lean toward the more "impressionistic" style which is good but hard when everyone still in this day of age judges artwork by realism.
